Abie Nathan (1927-2008) was an Israeli humanist and peace activist. He was born in Persia in 1927. At the age of seventeen he became a pilot in the British Air Force. In 1948 he volunteered as a pilot in Machal (Volunteers in Israel’s War of Independence) and stayed in Israel ever since.
