July 27 2012 was the date of the opening ceremony for the 2012 Olympics in London, England. And it was a spectacular show.

The ceremony began with Bradley Wiggins, the first British man to win the 2012 Tour de France. He rang the “largest harmonically tuned bell in the world” and then the real show started. The show presented different parts of British history, such as the Industrial Revolution, which had changed human life completely, it showed changes in music throughout the years, for example the Beatles phenomenon, and it ended with the five Olympic rings raining fire over the stadium. It was quite a sight.

When the teams began the march of nations I waited to see the Israeli delegation. When they finally appeared I was so full of pride to see Israel’s finest athletes. I was so moved by the sight of Shahar Zubery, an Israeli windsurfer and Olympic bronze medalist, smiling a joyful smile and waving the Israeli flag proudly with thirty four Israeli athletes marching behind him.

We wish all the Israeli representatives and all the other Olympians good luck!
