Maccabi Ashdod is a women’s basketball team in Israel.
At the end of March 2012 they won the finals against Ramat Hasharon 63-50 and won the Israeli State Cup. It was the first time that Maccabi Ashdod got to the final, and of course the first time they won it.
The players of Ashdod were so happy: “It’s something inconceivable” said Ortal Oren, one of the players. Other players said: “We did something amazing, we gave it all we got”, and “We made history.”
Maccabi Ashdod is now first place in the league and it is on the way to be the champion team.
In the last few years Israeli women basketball has become more famous, there are very good games and its fun to watch them.
