On January 1, 2012 the new season of the Israeli Big Brother reality TV show began.
Most of the people I know think of the Big Brother as nothing more than a TV show, but I think that it’s more than just a TV show – it presents the variety of people in Israel. And after all, it is not common to find a country with such a colorful population.
There are more than 7,500,000 people who live in Israel today, including Christians, Arabs, Native Americans, Asians, Europeans and Africans. They live together in the same cities and go to the same schools.
In addition, every person who lives in Israel gets the same rights, regardless of religion, gender or skin color.
However, despite their differences, the people who live here accept each other. It is true that sometimes there are disagreements, but it is normal and happens all over the world.
Now you are probably thinking, how is this possible? How can people so different live together in peace in such a small country?
Well, my friends, this mystery will never be solved.
Instead, what we do know is that Israel is managing to contain many different cultures, and it does it in a great way.
