Earlier this month two Lebanese men reached Bangkok with Swedish passports. The men planned to hide bombs in cars and to put these cars next to the Israeli embassy, synagogues and other Israeli-related places.

The Israelis and Americans advertised a travel warning to Bangkok as a result of the attempt. The Thais are trying to calm the fears, saying that their police officers are in control of the situation.

The suspects were arrested. In the investigation the suspects said they were from the Hezbollah and that they took part in the Bangkok attack. The Thai Defense Minister, Yutthasak Sasiprapa, said that the attack attempt was in an area where Israelis and Americans tourists stayed at the time. The police are still looking for the other suspect.
