Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed (in English: ”The Federation of Working and Studying Youth”) is an Israeli youth movement, established in 1924.
There are a lot of branches all over the country. We wear blue shirts that symbolize the working class and labor and red strings that symbolize socialism.
I am going to tell you about my own activity in the youth movement.
We meet twice a week in a building called ”nest”. My nest is called Naot Ganim.
In the nest we do all kinds of activities. For example: last week we painted graffiti to convey a message.
A few weeks ago we had an all-district seminar called “Kennes Tet”. There we learned about important principles, and equality between the people in the world. We learned that gender, race and religion do not matter because everyone is human and everyone deserves equality.
Furthermore, the seminar was two days, so we slept together in sleeping bags, and ate a lot of snacks – I had a great time.
I met new friends, and I learned a lot of new things. When we needed to go back home, we exchanged emails and we hope to stay in touch.
