We all heard about the terrible disaster that happened last year in Japan – the earthquakes, the tsunami and all the other natural disasters that occurred.
Because I have many friends from Japan I decided to harness my class into a project to show support for Japan. For a few months we made a paper crane (which is a symbol of peace and hope in Japan) and we made a sign that says “Pray for Japan.” We also took some photographs and I sent them to my friends in Japan. My friends put our photographs into Japanese forums.
A few days later I saw that people commented on the photographs with: “that can’t be from Israel, it looks like Europe,” and “where is all this in Israel?”
At first I got mad and didn’t understand how they could know so little about Israel, how they didn’t know we were like everybody else.
I decided to register to the forum and start talking with them about Israel. I explained that Israel is a small country but it is very well developed in technology, and I explained that we are just like them.
