Maccabi Tel Aviv is an Israeli basketball team. It represents Israel in many international competitions, including the Euroleague – the most important basketball league in the world after the NBA.

Maccabi has already won some Euroleague cups – 5 of them in 1977, 1981, 2001, 2004 and 2005. After 3 years Maccabi has qualified again for the Final Four – the best 4 teams in Europe.

Maccabi’s odds this year are pretty good, at the first stage of the Euroleage Maccabi accomplished an amazing balance of 9 victories with only 1 loss, and though the next stages were a bit harder, but Maccabi found its way to the Final Four.

Instead of celebrating qualifying to the Final Four Maccabi’s focus was on the fact that the final game is set on the Israeli Fallen Soldiers Memorial Day.

After many efforts Maccabi had managed to precede the game to the hour of 16:30 in Israel (before the ceremonies officially begin, and thus not playing during the actual memorial day).

Maccabi played against Real Madrid at the semi-finals and won and will now play the final game against Panathinaikos and may be this year’s Euroleague champions.

As an Israeli and a Maccabi Tel Aviv fan, I’m hoping that the cup will come back in Tel Aviv.
