Yad Vashem is the Israeli national museum for the commemoration of the Holocaust, which is located in Jerusalem. Many tourists and visitors from all over Israel and abroad visit it everyday.

On Tuesday I got a chance to visit this amazing museum. When I got there with my family, there was a big crowd of tourists outside. I went up to them and asked them where they were from, and they answered that they were from Nigeria. I greeted them and they greeted me back with a Shalom. They later told me how exciting it was for them to visit Yad Vasham, although they were not Jewish, they felt a big and strong connection to the place.

I visited the hall of remembrance, where there were hundreds of tourists. I met visitors from Brazil, USA, England, Russia and Germany. All of them were very supportive of Israel.

When I looked at the exhibits, I was filled with a strong sense of pride, along with a good feeling because of the support that all of the tourists had shown to Israel, which is, sadly, a very rare thing these days. It also touched me that all of these people acknowledge the fact that there was a Holocaust, in times when Holocaust denial is a spreading disease.

That is why it was a day I will never forget.
