In Israel there is a very advance basketball league. This year, the league management decided to have an all-star game between the foreign players and the local players.

They also decided that because it is an exhibition game for the fans, the fans will pick who will play in each team. For this purpose, they built up a website, where surfers could choose the players for an Israeli team and a “foreign” team. After the voting was done, the votes were counted and the local and foreign players from each team, who got the most votes, were chosen to play in the game.

The coaches of the two teams also chose another two players to play in their team, to have more players in each team so the rotation will be bigger. An official announcement was published about the players that were chosen, and all we could do was wait for the game itself.

The stadium that was chosen for the game was the gym in Gan Ner, a small village at the Gilboa (in northern Israel). This place was chosen because the game was a salute game to the citizens of the north, in the aftermath of the fire at the Carmel.

After a few weeks the day of the game arrived, the game began, and the celebrations were huge. The gym was full of fans, the game was fun, and most importantly: it produced great plays. And if that’s not enough, there was a three pointer shot and a slam dunk competition.

In the end, the Israeli team won the game and proved that the Israeli basketball is very successful and that they are even better than the foreign players.
