Yad Vashem is the Israeli memorial museum of the Holocaust. It was established in 1953 in Jerusalem, next to mount Herzl.

The Dead Sea
The Dead Sea is a salt-water lake that is located between Israel and Jordan, near the margins of the Judean desert. The western side is a part of Israel, while the eastern side is a part of Jordan.
The Weizmann Institute of Science
The Weizmann Institute of Science is a university and research institute in Rehovot, Israel. It differs from other Israeli universities in that it offers only graduate and post-graduate studies in sciences. It is also the only university in Israel that made English its official teaching language, and has many foreign students. It has 5 departments: biology, biochemistry, chemistry, physics, math and computer sciences.
Azrieli Mall
Azrieli Center mall is located in Tel Aviv and it is considered one of the best shopping centers in Israel.
Trip to the Negev
On November 17-19 the 9th grade from ORT Afek School in Kiryat Bialik went on a trip to the Negev to explore the geography of Israel. The journey had three main purposes: to understand the region’s components, to increase our affinity to the land and to acknowledge Ben Gurion’s contribution to the country and his vision of developing the Negev.
Israel is one of the only countries that are trying to restore animals to their natural environment. The Hebrew name for a land used for breeding animals in their natural environment is Hai Bar (animals in the wild). Israel has two such areas, one in Mount Carmel and the other near Kibbutz Yotvata.
World Heritage Sites in Israel
There are a few important places in Israel that have an historical value for people all over the world. UNESCO added these places to the list of the World Heritage Sites. Here is some information about each of them:
Ramon Crater
The Ramon Crater is the world’s biggest crater of its kind – an erosion cirque (a unique natural phenomenon). Almost all the craters in Israel are created by the same phenomenon.
The Dead Sea
The Dead Sea is a very special place for both Israel and the world. The Dead Sea is the lowest place on earth, and the water in it are incredibly salty.
The Museum of Underground Prisoners
At 16:22 the wall of the prison was broken. The Irgun`s act succeeded. 41 members of the Jewish Resistance Movements – the Irgun and the Lehi, who were imprisoned there for many years, could escape. This attack had been planned for a long time.
Sand and Stars
During this Hanukkah vacation I had four amazing days of sand and stars all around me in the Negev – the Israeli desert.
