Hummus is an Israeli dish and it is very tasty. Most of the Israeli people like it and eat it in restaurants and at home. Here’s a recipe so you can prepare it at home.

Materials: (For 4 servings)

2 cups of chickpeas

2/3 cup of tahini

Lemon juice from 2 small lemons

1-2 garlic cloves

1/2 teaspoon of cumin

1/2 teaspoon of baking soda

Salt

Olive oil

Preparation:

Put the chickpeas in 2-3 liters of water for 12 hours.

Cook the chickpeas without salt and when it boils add the baking soda.

Continue to cook it for an hour to an hour a half.

Put the hot cooked chickpeas in the food processor, grind and let it cool off.

When it is cold add all the other ingredients.

Keep in the refrigerator.

Serve with olive oil on top.
